What started as the brain-child of Macclesfield-based Hayley Bell - to attempt a relay around the world led by women on motorbikes - has now fledged into a global movement since she first shared her idea on social media in August, late last year.

At this moment, over 15,000 women motorbikers worldwide have responded to her call to show the industry the riding force behind the female biker market. In over 90 countries across the globe - from Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Asia to South and North America - increasing numbers of women are signing up to carry the baton across the world that could set a new Guinness World Record.

Says Hayley Bell: “Women Riders World Relay ( www.womensworldrelay.com ) is a chance to celebrate and give light to women riders globally, while also highlighting their increasing numbers as the fastest growing market in the motorcycle industry.”

‘The ‘Women Riders World Relay’ (WRWR) kick-started on 27th February 2019 in John O’Groats, Scotland and is making its way through the UK and Ireland over the coming days,

making some noise, before crossing to Boulogne-sur-Mer, France, on 10th March to continue its global journey.

In the UK and Ireland alone, the relay has inspired and motivated just shy of 200 women participants (“Guardians”) to carry the hand-carved baton across the first stretch of the relay.

To mark the launch of the relay in the UK and to participate in the momentous global campaign,

WRWR is hosting two events on International Women’s Day weekend

● WRWR has partnered with the renowned Ace Cafe in London to host the official WRWR

launch event on Saturday 9th March . The relay will stop by the Cafe in the afternoon and

a range of inspirational female speakers from the motorbike industry are lined up

throughout the day to celebrate and unite women;

● The relay will begin the final day in the UK on Sunday 10th March at Sittingbourne

Speedway where WRWR has organised a hands-on, off road motorbike experience for

all attendees. The relay and electronically-tagged baton leave that afternoon for France.

So, GEAR†UP†! and show your support by attending the events being hosted. Everybody is

welcome to come and celebrate the launch of Women Riders World Relay!
