Edmonton Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Community has successful year! Featured

Edmonton Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Community has successful year! Edmonton Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Community has successful year!

UN NATO E.H.D.M.C. 2019 was another very successful year for the Edmonton Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Community when it comes to our fund-raising efforts in support of our Veterans at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans located in Edmonton.

We raised $4141.94 from the sale of our 2019 Ladies of the E.H.D.M.C. Calendar after paying for the costs to have the calendar printed and $8043.21 which was raised from the 2019 Motorcycle Fashion Show which was held on April 6th at Blackjacks Roadhouse in Nisku for a total of $12,185.15 for 2019.

On May 25th. I attended the Edmonton UN NATO Veterans BBQ and motorcycle Show and Shine which is also a fund raiser for the Kipnes Center. This year they raised over $3000.00 from the BBQ, Show & Shine and their Silent auction. The UN NATO hold this event each year and the residents at the Centre have a great time being part of the activities. This event allowed me the opportunity to present the cheque from the finds raised through our fashion show.

UN NATO E.H.D.M.C.

In the fall of 2015 we decided as a group to start fund raising in support of our Veterans and through our annual calendar sales, Motorcycle Fashion Show and other initiatives we have raised $47,710.88 to assist our Vets. This would not be possible if it were not for a small group of volunteers from the E.H.D.M.C. Facebook group, UN NATO Canada Veterans, the Riding Community and the companies that continue to assist us each year with theses initiatives. It amazes me how generous the riding community is when it comes to supporting so many great causes. I realize that there are so many groups that are asking all of us to support a charity for something that is important to them. We also realize that there is only so much each person can do so we would like to express our sincere gratitude to those that continue to support our initiatives to assist our Veterans.

We have decided after much thought that will be holding our Photo Contest again this year for the 5th. Anniversary Ladies of the E.H.D.M.C. Calendar. The details will be announced very soon but if you are a female Harley-Davidson owner/rider and are 25 years or older this may be your opportunity to be a part of the 2020 issue and be in the spotlight for a month. The 2020 E.H.D.M.C. Motorcycle Fashion Show will also be returning on April 4, 2020 for its fourth year so make sure that you save the date.

Again, on behalf of the Volunteers of the E.H.D.M.C. we would like to extend our gratitude for the riding communities continued support. Have a safe a awesome summer of riding.

- Mayor Ray Ralph
