Contemporary worship v.s. Biker worship

cross greyFirst we need to know what worship is. According to the strongs dictionary in the old testiment it means to prostrate oneself, bow down, the act of bowing down in homage is generally done before a superior or ruler.

Thus David bowed himself before Saul ( 1 Samual 24: 8 ) Shacha is used as the common Hebrew term for coming before God. There is more to worship than bowing down to a ruler or superior. The most commonly recognized form of worship is the songs which are sang in the church before the sermon or message is taught by the preacher.

We see people singing lifting their hands to the Lord as a form of total surrender to him. This would be what I would think of when someone said something about praise and worship.

How ever..... how is a biker who believes in God but does not feel comfortable in a contemparary or traditional church setting suposed to worship God while riding down the road? It's not like you can raise your hands to the lord while rolling down the interstate at 65 -75 mph. That would just be insane. While practicing the act of praise and worship before the Lord it is done within the heart and allowed to be made manifest outwardly in church, so can this happen on a bike? Yes. How? You can outwardly verbally thank God for His creation for it is all around us, thank him for the sunny warm weather which is most desired by all bikers alike, take notice of the green grass you pass although this maybe only on an occasion or two if you live in the concrete surroundings of the city, if you happen to be on the coast or near a body of water and you see birds of all kinds flyig thank him for that, or the blue water in which the winds come from to cool you off.we see all of his creation anytime we are putting around on our scooters. Thank Him for the blessing to be able to ride your scooter, if your woman is on the back thank him for that time you spend with her and that she likes riding just as much as you do. You see as we are all created in the image of God we can all worship him and thank him in an equal manner which is from the heart no matter the setting. Although I personally would like to do this on a long desolate stretch of road in a desert setting, this is my dream. As men of God we should always thank Him for safe travels along the way, because it is part of God's provision to provide a safe pathway along the highways and biways by which we travel.

Until next time be blessed.....stop look aroud you as you ride down the road take notice to His creation and always keep the rubber side down.
