Calgary Show Kicks Off Canadian Tour

calgary mc get your fix CALGARY, AB (January 07, 2018) – The Motorcycle Show – Calgary, presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance, took place January 5-7th at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park.

The weather in Calgary broke after a long deep freeze prior to the opening of the show.

Over three sunny days 26,593 eager consumers came out to have the chance to ogle the various new powersport products that all the manufacturers and local dealers displayed.

Despite the impact of the World Juniors Gold Medal Game on Friday’s attendance, the show still put up a 5% increase from 25,327 attendees in 2017.

This year’s show featured- the all new Handle Bar, a lifestyle and custom motorcycle display featuring Ill Fated Kustoms and the Stars of Tomorrow booth that focused on family and youth riding. The Ground N’ Gravity Show included Freestyle Riders Keith Sayers, Chad Bauman, Billy Kohut, and FMX icon Twitch, as well as stunt riding Champion Craig Latimer. The Yamaha Riding Academy was filled to capacity early each day as children eagerly made their way to sign up as soon as the doors opened.

On SHE Rides Night Friday 451 women took advantage of the ½ price savings and had a chance to win a 2018 Kawasaki Versys X300ABS, courtesy of Canadian Kawasaki.

Betty Jo of Edmonton was the lucky winner.  Saturday we had well over 1000 entries to the new Kawasaki Double Take draw and a very large excited crowd gathered at 4:00pm to listen to hear if their names were called.  Andy from Crowsnest Pass and Chad from Calgary were the 2 lucky winners of the Kawasaki Z125 motorcycles.

The Calgary Motorcycle Show had tremendous media coverage this year:  CTV – 3 times onsite,

Global Television – 4 times both onsite and in studio, CBC TV – 2 times, a variety of radio stations and both the Sun and Herald newspapers.  The Show did a test pilot of Facebook Live at the Show by contracting a professional videography company and host. We scheduled 10 Live Sessions on both Friday and Saturday showcasing different features and components of the show.  Overall the Show continues to see an increase of social media including online photos, videos and tweets from participating exhibitors and consumers including a pre-show ticket promotion.
