The ride this year wasn't exactly the Independent Riders NE Frozens Buns Ride and Rip it usually is being it was 26c out. Many years we have left town with snow flakes in the air. We had riders from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Nipawin, Melfort, Watrous and the surrounding Tisdale area.
Don Sapsford has been a participant in Saskatoon’s Motorcycle Ride for Dad since its inception 6 years ago. In 2011, Don himself was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and he realized that he wanted to do a little something more for the cause.
Growing up it seemed like there was a rule for everything. One of the many rules I remember from school was no walking on the front grass. Our small town school had been built barely a generation before and was the pride a joy of the community.
R.A.G.E. promoted the 2nd Annual Awareness Ride for Saskatchewan on Sunday, May 18th. The message was to “Get Out and Ride!”.
We would like to thank everyone who was out riding that day…rain or shine!
That special time of day when the sun rides as low in the saddle as we do. The Golden Hour just before sunset, just before the sun get so low that it blinds you to oncoming traffic. The air is crisp but not yet cold. The darkness starting to creep across the countryside mixing in with the shadows. The wind as calm in the evening air as our soul is. We weave in and out of traffic content with the ride, not the speed. Its been a good day riding. Miles and smiles. A few more miles until we tie a bow on the day - maybe with the ribbon from a pretty girl’s hair. Life is full and complete, unhindered by the outside world. We live within, within nature, within life.
Today we stopped by to thank the two business’s that helped make our Fund Raining Event on the 27th of March a success.
