The first ever Lakeland Motorcycle Trade Show & Swap Meet Featured

DK KnivesThe first ever Lakeland Motorcycle Trade Show & Swap Meet was a huge success.

Over the course of the day somewhere around 800 riders came through the event making the 40 vendors that were on hand some happy!

We attempted doing a live airing of Rider Friendly Report. I say attempted, because the Internet, even wired into an extender hub was awful.

I interviewed Sheila Willis of the History Check App, Rinita and Dana from the Golden Gopher. Doug from DK Knives, Harley-Davidson of Edmonton & the Calendar Girls, Sven Bernard from Williams Custom Bikes and of course Bob Ross, the organizer of the event.

Bob was over the moon with happiness because the show was sold out and Mother Nature smiled on everyone with 20+ degree temperatures.

Some of the other vendors of note were Penny & Bear from Bear Biker Wear, Moonshine from Moonshine Welding was on hand with tons of Harley parts and Randy Rechlo from Lloydminster brought 4 used bikes for sale.

Sandy Laurin from Royal LePage Noralta Real Estate, and Betty Jo from Klondike Insurance were also there as were a ton of other small vendors.

You could buy everything from piercing jewelry to ice cream and pretty much anything in between!

At noon the beer gardens upstairs opened and it attracted a nice crowd. Because the venue was the brand new curling rink and community center, everyone in the beer gardens could watch what was happening on the floor.

Like every other motorcycle event any rider has ever been to, the hugs, the laughter and camaraderie rang throughout the building and spilled out into the parking lot and street.

By 5pm the event was wrapping up and a number of people decided to go over to the Two Hills Inn for supper, some adult beverages and entertainment.

The music didn’t start until 9pm, which meant that a good portion of the crowd had left, but those who were planning on staying the night were up on the dance floor and having a blast.

All in all, the Town of Two Hills lived up to it’s hard won reputation as Canada’s FIRST MOST Rider friendly Community and a great time was had by all!
